Lemon Law Tips

The Ohio Lemon Law is one of the strongest consumer protections in Ohio. However, one of the most important aspects of the law is what a person does to preserve their claim before taking advantage of their rights.

Since a number of repair attempts are required within the 1st year/18,000 miles, dealerships often delay, obfuscate, and "forget" to record when repair attempts were made in that window of time.

Consumers should always get a receipt when a dealership is visited for an inspection or repair. Even if the dealership does not do anything on the vehicle, a written receipt will still count as a repair attempt. If the consumer delivers the vehicle to the dealership and they refuse to do repairs
